February 4th 2009: Marklin GmbH has filed
for bankruptcy protection. After Banks have denied a loan extension of 50
million Euros, Marklin GmbH had no choice other than file for bankruptcy
protection.
We saw this coming and we have said this many
times. If the High Management at GmbH does not change their policies and ear its
Dealers, the Company will not succeed and will not be able to survive in these
turbulent days of open markets, heavy competition and faster, better and cheaper
supplies from other Brands.
Marklin is wounded and will take time and very
smart people at its head to make it be again what has been in the last 150
years.
Whoo. The President of Marklin GmbH is also
gone by end of year 2008. This is a very good news as this guy has no idea what
is all this business about. His background has nothing to do with Hobbies and he
did nothing at all to clear the problems of Marklin nor the Dealers around the
World. He always avoided direct contact with us as well as other large Marklin
Dealers, in USA and Canada.
September 15th. 2008: As we predicted:
The Distributor of Marklin and Trix in USA has decided to increase prices
starting October 20th 2008 to all USA Dealers in the product line.
As we predicted, this will be the future for
Marklin and Trix of those buying in USA from the Distributor named by Marklin
GmbH and Fred Gates. A continuous rise on prices until the Brand is death and
then, they will be able to sell their American and proprietary products. They do
not care about Marklin.
Finally Marklin is gone in USA. As
predicted by us a couple of years ago, Marklin Inc. is not any longer the
Distributor for Marklin and Trix products in North America and his President,
Mr. Fred Gates is finally gone.
A small staff of a couple of people has been left
behind to cover some needs of Marklin, but we predict those people will not last
either and the Company "Marklin Inc." will die of inactivity.
Micro Macro Mundo Inc. as assured enough stock of
Marklin and Trix and will bring all the new items 2008/09 direct from our own
sources in Germany. We only hope the Euro can go lower to pass lower prices to
our Customers as we always have done.
