37973 Steam Locomotive with Tender.
Prototype: Union Pacific Railroad (UP) class 2400 fast freight
locomotive. United States Railroad Association (USRA)standard design 2-8-2
"Mikado".
Model: Locomotive comes with a digital decoder, controlled
high-efficiency propulsion, and a sound effects generator. High-efficiency
motor with bell-shaped armature in the boiler. 4 axles powered. 2 traction
tires. Locomotive can be retrofitted with the 72270 smoke generator. Headlight
and smoke generator contact will work in conventional operation and can be
controlled digitally. The headlight is a maintenance-free LED. Synchronized
steam locomotive sounds that vary with the speed of the locomotive, the
whistle sound effect as well as the bell or the acceleration and braking delay
are controlled digitally with the 6021 Control Unit. Non-working prototype
coupler on the pilot. Close coupling between the locomotive and the tender.
Separately applied metal handrails and grab irons. Many separately applied
details. Figures of a locomotive engineer and fireman for the engineer's cab
included. Minimum radius for operation is 360 mm / 14-3/16". Length over the
couplers 29.0 cm / 11-7/16".
This model is being offered in different versions by Trix (T22311, T22801,
T22802, T22803, T22804) for two-rail DC systems.
