As the successor to the Porsche 911 series 997, the 911 series 991 presented at the Frankfurt IAA 2011 already
represents the 7th
generation of the sports car legend from Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. Due to increasing safety
and comfort requirements, the vehicle weight
of the predecessor series has risen steadily. For this reason, the
991 was the first Porsche to be manufactured using a new type of
aluminum-steel composite construction.
As an intermediate stage between the Carrera S and the GT3, Porsche introduced the Carrera GTS
models in 2014. Available both with rear-wheel drive and as an all-wheel-drive Carrera 4, the Coupe, Cabriolet and Targa body
variants
as the GTS based on the 991.1 with an output of 430 hp were also positioned between the Carrera S and
